Music Mondays: Free Record Store Performance

I love social media for a plethora of reasons one being that it offers real-time event information. Riot Fest posted to Facebook that Laura Jane Grace (formerly Tom Gabel - read about it here) front women for Against Me! would be playing a FREE in store performance at Reckless Records in Wicker Park on Friday, November 29 in part of Black Friday. Oh, heck yes! The Mr and I have been long time fans of Against Me! And, I am STILL kicking myself for turning down the offer to see them while I was studying abroad in Dublin. I digress. We had planned to head to the record store a few hours before the gig started, but errands and not keeping track of time got away. We arrived less than an hour to gig time and to our surprise it was crowded, but not jammers. We ran into some people we knew and landed ourselves a pretty sweet spot. No fashionable late arrival for this punk rock darling, the show started promptly at 5pm. She played about 10 songs. She did hang around to sign autographs and chat, but we didn't stick around. Laura Jane announced that she moved to Chicago recently, so hopefully that means more gigs! I took some videos, but they are being stubborn and not loading correctly.
